White Oak Farm Sign

WHITE OAK FARM in Higganum, Connecticut is a lovely example of a property sign that was designed by the customer for their entrance. They chose from among hundreds of different artworks arranged in categories ranging from flowers to birds, from wild animals to fruit. In this case, they chose a tree to fit their name, and instead of flat painted, it was relief sculpted into the sign surface using hand gouges, and hand painted with brushes and artist acrylics. The main text and groove border were incise carved with chisels (no CNC router to be found in our shop).

All other aspects of the sign were chosen and arranged using Danthonia’s sign designer tools as well. The style of lettering, texture of sign panel, colors for each element, size, double or single sided, sign shape, edging style – each was the choice of the designer/buyer. Each design could be saved for further reference, or emailed to friends or family for their input. When they were happy with the final design, it was easy to order online by adding it to the cart and following the steps – choosing which hanging system fit their situation, as well as other options.

This sign hangs from a Danthonia ‘wrought iron’ scroll, which is really made of sturdy, rust-proof marine grade powder-coated aluminum and engineered to withstand high winds. The sign itself is made of high density urethane – an insect- and water-proof material that has the same look and feel as wood, but will outlast wood.
