Chrisman Mill Winery Sign

‘WHAT THOUGH YOUTH GAVE love and roses, age still leaves us friends and wine.’ Thomas Moore

Nestled among the bluegrass hills of Hickman Creek Valley in Jessamine County not far from Lexington, Kentucky, you will find Chrisman Mill Vineyards and Winery. Just a few miles from the first commercial vineyard to be established in America (‘The First Vineyard’, began in 1798 by John Dufour, an immigrant from Switzerland) this estate is producing excellent wine grapes on Kentucky’s well suited limestone soil and is proudly offering 100% Kentucky grown, processed and labelled wine.

Choosing wine grape varietals that have been proven to thrive in the local terrain, the first vintage of Chrisman Mill wine was produced in 1999. Since that time, the winery has expanded their menu to include nine successful wines, as well as honey mead and blackberry wine. They have also grown to include an impressive tapa and dessert menu which is served at two locations – in Jessamine County and in their Hamburg location.

This Danthonia sign was created for the folks at Chrisman who were looking for a handcrafted dimensional sign that would reflect the quality they take pride in. The cluster of grapes and leaves was sculpted with hand gouges and painted by one of our artists. The text and accents were incise carved the old fashioned way with hand chisels and gilded with 23kt gold leaf. Made of high density urethane, this sign will outlast wood, since it is insect proof and waterproof, and will not warp, rot or split over time. This is a striking entrance statement for this business that will be there for years to come.
