Yarraman Estate Winery Sign

THE HUNTER VALLEY in New South Wales has traditionally been the prime grape growing region in Australia with a history of viticulture dating back to 1825 and Yarramine Estate in Wybong is the oldest winery and vineyard in the Upper Hunter. First established in 1958 as Penfolds Wybong Estate, it featured varieties that were very little known at that time. The vineyard was then purchased in 1974 by Rosemount who retained the estate until 1994. Since then, a new winery and storage area have been built and export markets mainly to the USA and UK have been established. Yarraman is an Australian winery with an international reputation for outstanding wines.

The estate vineyards cover approximately 200 acres, with some vines 40 years old and fed from the nearby Wybong Creek. An additional 470 acres at Jugiong in southern New South Wales also supplements production. The folks at Yarraman take real pride in their state of the art technology and their skilled winemaker, Ian Long.

The wine choices are extensive and range in price from the 'Trios' wines, which feature blends like Semillon Chardonnay and Cabernet Merlot, up to single varietal types which are the premium estate wines such as Shiraz, Chambourcin, Merlot and Chardonnay to name a few.

The winery entrance sign took a 1st place in the 2009 Signs of the Times international sign competition - commercial pylon signs category. This contemporary design stands out with its bold shape, logo, and metallic finish. The hand carved artwork and textured shield add to the depth of this beautiful sign.
