Abundance Hill Sign

“FAMILY FARMS and small businesses are the backbone of our communities.” Tom Allen

Abundance Hill, in the rolling hills of central Pennsylvania, was a dairy farm for several decades, on property that was originally granted by William Penn back in 1753. Since 2003, the barn and grounds have been continually renovated and expanded and are now a venue for social events, not least of which is the annual Barn Dance – a high point of the year for the many friends and relatives of the owner. The venue is also rented out for weddings, parties, graduations, family celebrations and other private receptions in this beautiful setting of orchard, pond and waterways.

This handcrafted sign is unique in that the artwork is a dimensional hand sculpted and painted copy of part of the farmhouse porch. The customer supplied photos which were then carefully transformed into this custom design. The larger text and accent lines were hand carved and gilded with 23kt gold leaf, while the smaller text and border groove were carved and painted. Since the sign is made of high density urethane (HDU), it will last much longer than a wooden sign, which can warp, split and crack over time in the elements. HDU is totally waterproof and insect-proof, though it has the look, feel, and weight as wood. Painted with the highest quality exterior acrylic paints, it will not show any noticeable fading for years to come. The sign also comes with customized hardware and instructions so it is easy to install.
