Quality Assurance

Production Quality SheetDanthonia's internal quality system exceeds the standards of most systems in that we practice 100% inspection on every operation for every component of each sign we produce.

Quality AssuranceOnce your sign goes to production our working checklists require initials, dates and times recorded upon completion of each operation. This monitors progress and accountability. It also flows important information downstream assuring, for example, that a second coat of paint will not be applied until the first coat has cured for the recommended time.

Other ways we assure the quality of your sign include:

Hold Points

Following certain operations (hand carving of text for example), a supervisor's inspection is required before the carved component can move into the next work area for painting.

Sales Team Surveillance

Your Danthonia sales reps tour the workshop twice daily with the express task of representing your concerns while monitoring your work-in-process. They also inspect and approve photos of your fully assembled sign before sending them to you for approval.

Client approval

You will be asked to check and approve emailed photos of your completed signage before it is packed and shipped.

If at any time a problem is detected, that information goes upstream as constructive feedback to the craftsperson and/or supervisor who had signed off the operation. The component is immediately reworked or replaced as required to meet our quality standard. Thought is then given to the root cause of the problem and improved training and/or processing techniques are explored in an effort to avoid similar problems from happening in the future.

When all is said and done, most of our sign projects are custom in nature and are treated as fine ‘artwork’. Each sign comes to life under the skilled hands of artists and artisans who take pride in their work. Our clients make the final quality check when they open the box and inspect their sign. Danthonia’s job is not complete until we have your full satisfaction.
