Danthonia Designs prefers to craft all signs using High-Density Urethane (HDU). HDU is more durable than a natural carved wooden sign and more cost-effective to manufacture. Traditional carved wood signs are prone to rotting, splitting and warping and require regular repair and restoration. HDU is both weather-resistant and insect-proof, so it will not fade under extreme conditions and will not attract termites or spiders.
If you insist on creating a custom carved wood sign, we review each request on a case-by-case basis. Wood carved signs are expensive to manufacture and do not look as good as HDU, however if you are interested in discussing the costs involved with carved wooden signs, contact us directly.
